The Perfect Spring Legs | http://www.wolfordshop.co.uk
The lyrics from Sakura Drops, a song by Utada Hikaru which I religiously listened to in high school, is playing in my head lately. Although a few weeks late from the pink snowflake showers in Japan, London’s cherry blossom contingency have finally come out to welcome in the spring season. As white sakura petals transform London streets, my heart skips a beat to the tunes from my high school days in Tokyo.
Spring in London can be tricky to maneuverer. With beaming sunshine and the burst of rainbow coloured blooms, it is very easy to get tricked into thinking that all of our layering skills which we built up over the long winter months can be immediately forgotten. The thought of leaving my winter coats at home and venturing outside merely with a thin spring dress seem to be such brilliant ideas, until the spring winds rush in with cheeky furore. There is one winter wisdom I always try to take with me into spring – always protect my legs from the elements. It feels a little mean to take away all of the protective layers from my legs and demand them to go all nude so suddenly. After all, they have definitely turned quite shy with months of being covered up in wool tights and thick trousers.
A less brutal way is to put the training wheels back on in the form of thinner, sheer tights and hosiery. Wolford is definitely my choice of luxury tights which I turn to for my perfect spring legs. With a great collection of patterned tights, it is easy to find a pair which is fun and a stylish way to accessorise my winter shy legs. With Mr Pugington constantly trying to station himself on my lap, my tights are prone to tares and runs. However, Wolford tights seem to be extra strong and definitely pug proof. They feel incredible on and are such a great support for my legs against the occasional spring breeze.
