Growing up, my mama encouraged me to keep a diary partly to make sure that I practiced my writing skills and partly to keep track of my life. That has stuck with me to this day and now it’s quite a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. I’m not strict on how or what I write in my diary and there are times when I go without opening it for weeks. For me, the casualness of it all has made it easy for me to keep the ritual alive and has kept my love of keeping a diary strong.
Diary writing is very personal so picking out the right journal is such an important part of the process. And once I find a journal that I like, I tend to keep re-buying it to keep my shelves in a nice patterned order. My current journal fav is from Aspinal of London’s raindrop series. I absolutely adore pouring my life out onto the pages of this journal and it is so handy that the journal is refillable. The journal goes so well with my everyday looks and I also especially love the fact that it goes so well with my Aspinal silk scarf as well. So if anyone is looking to start a new hobby, why not start a diary the old fashioned way, with a good old pen and paper.
