It has been brought to my attention that I never do any looks with jeans. Obviously, this is unacceptable! Jeans is a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, so it’s about time I talked denim. Looking through my blog, it must be hard to picture me in jeans, but I assure you, I love denim as much as I love my non-denim treasures. My jeans collection is a bit like my mum’s wardrobe. They are the trusted go to items that I feel like I can rely on forever and will never go away. Jeans are the most accessible and versatile items of clothing and so I think they should be Easy, Breezy, Covergirl (sorry I couldn’t help myself).
I’d like to think the whole point of denim is to be fuss free (i.e. you shouldn’t have to worry about getting them mucky or doing some hard labour in them). This is why I love finding a guilt free pair of jeans from the high street. There are quite a few high street brands with massive denim ranges and having tried a lot of selections, I think River Island has cracked the formula on the best jeans selection. Although I love and wear a variety of different cuts, a good old pair of skinny jeans always wins in my eyes. I also think it is the best indicator of whether a brand knows how to sculpt a woman’s body. We all know there’s no hiding in skinny jeans. This is why I think it’s very important that the denim in question fits well. And boy, the Amelie super skinnies fits like a glove. They seem to hug my body in all the right places including my bottom (yes, I’m talking about my bottom now!) and they are actually comfortable. They are easy to move around in, breathable and don’t feel like I have cling film wrapped around me.
Skinnies are great to wear around the city but I often find that a desire to escape out of them gradually grows through out the day. By the time I get home, the first thing I want to do is take them off to let my poor body breath. This is one major burden with skinny jeans. I almost thought this would be a burden us girls would have to live with as long as we worn skinny jeans. So I was completely and utterly in awe when I got home having spent an entire day in River Island jeans. That longing to escape never developed during the day and even after I got home, I didn’t have the urge to rip them off. Ladies, I actually found a comfortable pair of skinnies! So I hope you can test them out too and see that I’m not lying or making this all up. River Island skinny jeans are seriously THAT good.
