The air is crisp, the leaves are falling, it’s time for coat season! With so many options, I always find it challenging to narrow my coats down. For me, coats are all about comfort and warmth. I’ve never been good at handling bitter cold weathers and the unforgiving wind, so my coat of choice is always long with extra insular materials such as wool, Sherpa wool or fleece. I tend to stay away from fleece materials because the electric shocks I get from it drives me nuts (it’s practically a walking semiconductor with my hair rubbing on it constantly). So I usually stick with wool coats or wool blends. It’s the perfect material for London as wool keeps me warm even when it gets wet or damp. The other deciding factor for my winter coat is style, obviously. Oversized coats were all the rage last winter and I too was one of the avid believers of the style, but for this season, I am sticking to classic silhouettes for a touch of feminine elegance. This is why I turned to French label Paul & Joe for my winter coat of choice, and voilah! I knew I could count on them for a beautiful coat with an edge. I am in love with this Kokilla coat which has a classic silhouette but features a camouflage print which has been reinvented to give it a modern edge. Camouflage isn’t a print I would normally chose, but Paul & Joe has reinvented it in such an imaginative way. It is eye catching without being overtly obvious and it is memorable without being just a one time wonder. I cannot think of a better winter warmer for this season and it is a statement piece which elevates any outfit with an elegant chicness. Je suis amoureux!
