There are some fashion faux pas that I think are straight up not true. For example, ‘you can’t wear pink and red together’. Um… we all know that these two colour combinations are actually one of the best ways to spice up a bold colour block look. Another one I genuinely don’t think is right is ‘there are certain body shapes that can wear striped clothes’. For all the stripe lovers out there, this little myth has strangled a lot of fashion creativity. Stripes are one of my favourite patterns which is simplistic but automatically makes any outfit chic. The French have been wearing striped shirts for years and I must say they look pretty cool in them. It’s one of those timeless looks that are eternally fashionable. This is why whenever I see a new striped item, I gravitate towards it like a moth to a light bulb. And this dress by The Fifth is no exception. With exaggerated sleeves and a flirty hem line, this dress is quite frankly a perfect no fuss dress. You really don’t need much more in terms of styling and I think this is one of those dresses that should be kept simple. For me, it was a matter of slipping on some sandals with a little pearl ring.
