As summer says her farewells and autumn greets us with changing hues of yellow, orange and red, I chuckle a little with excitement for the splendour of autumn foliage. It’s a postcard perfect time of year where the earth is covered by a bed of yellow leaves and people seem to be more reflective and perhaps melancholy. It’s also the time when the gradual temperature drop means an added element for styling my looks and layers upon layers are added as we get closer and closer to winter. For now, I’m focused on enjoying the arrival of autumn with just a light blazer.
The changing of season signifies a change of wardrobe. As a variety of labels launch their AW offerings, one high street brand which has caught my eye is New Look. Their A/W selection is the strongest I have ever seen with fantastic on trend checks, tartans, layering jumpers and jackets. As most of you have caught on, my ultimate favourite look at the moment is checks. So seeing an entire collection centred around crisscrossing lines made me a very happy girl. If you are ever in an adventurous mood, try different styles of check patters such as combining larger check prints with smaller check prints. It might sound like a traffic stopping optical illusion, but trust me, combining different check patterns adds a stylish and effortlessly cool vibe to the look. I decided to test this theory out by teaming this chic single buttoned jacket with this amazingly cute wrap mini skirt. By finishing the look off with a fedora hat (an autumn staple), a dreamy pussy bow blows and some sexy over the knee boots, I think I achieved the perfect autumn check look.
I hope you are all enjoying the changing seasons!
